Where does the program take place?

Malden Catholic High School in Malden MA & Building 1 on the MIT Campus in Cambridge MA.

What is the cost of the program?

There is no cost to the program.

What is the commute time to the program?

For most students in the Boston area the commute time is between 20-60 minutes depending on traffic.

What skills do students pick up from in the program and what will they learn?

Students will learn to use the scientific method and to conduct original research.

How many students will attending the program?

As many as 40 students will participate, Usually not more than 15-20 at a time.

What age range of the students in the group?

The ages range from 10-18.

How are students apply for the program?

Students can apply by completing the application here in the website.

Is the program run like a class? What is the duration of the program each day?

The program is a cooperative independent research activity where students can work in small groups. The groups meets from 9-3pm Mon-Thurs.

What does a day at the program look like?

From the morning to noon the students meet to discuss the days research activities then break for lunch at noon. In the afternoon students will discuss the morning results.

What is the time commitment of being apart of the group?

Participants are asked to contribute to the process as much as they are able.

Does the program cover housing for non-residential students?

No.

What areas in Massachusetts do the students come from?

Primarily areas north of Boston.
