About Our Lab
LAMM Outreach is an integral part of MIT’s Laboratory for Atomistic and Molecular Mechanics (LAMM). LAMM is a research laboratory headed by Prof. Markus Buehler that designs new materials from the molecular scale that are useful, practical, and sustainable. Our Outreach brings talented middle and high school students together with teachers, grad students, and scientists to address complex issues in the field of Materials Science.
For 2023 LAMM Outreach will be an in-person, non-residential program for students living in or within commuting distance of Cambridge and Malden Massachusetts. During the school year Outreach participants will work in their own schools and come together during the summer to work in the labs at Malden Catholic (MC, Malden MA) and on campus at MIT. The program is supported by UNITE and funded through the US Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP). All interested students ages 13-17 are invited to apply.
